As you all well know, my favorite place to be is in our houseplant greenhouse. I love to look at all the exotic leaves. They all look so beautiful because my human friends take such good care of them. As we get further into spring and the days get longer, it’s time to fertilize your houseplants. This will help awaken your plants from dormancy after a long winter. My humans can keep our plants so healthy and full by giving them proper nutrients.

Linda, who is the head of our houseplant department, often talks about her favorite fertilizers which are Wiggle Worm worm castings and Sustane Flourish 8•2•4. Both are great options to slowly release nutrients to your plants.

Wiggle Worm worm castings are a great addition to your soil. This would be a purrrrfect option if you need to repot your plant this spring. If you are repotting, use 1 part worm castings to 4 parts soil. You can also add 1’’ of worm castings to the top of your potted plant and mix it in. You should repeat this process every 2-3 months. Sustane Flourish 8•2•4 is a water-soluble fertilizer that is also organic. You only need 1-2 tablespoons for every gallon of water. Apply this every 7-14 days during the growing season. This is a very easy way to feed your plants all season long. You will definitely see a difference in the appearance and health of your plants.
