⭐️ Tuesday Tip: Watering Orchids ⭐️

Orchids are stunning plants, but they need the right care to thrive. One of the most common questions is: "How do I water my orchid?" While care varies by variety, here's a quick guide for Phalaenopsis orchids:

💧 Water Weekly-ish: Most orchids need water about once a week. Orchids in bark dry out faster (5–7 days), while those in moss may need water every 7–10 days. Always check the potting medium before watering!

💡 The Soak Method:
1️⃣ Use a pot with drainage holes (essential!).
2️⃣ Place your orchid in the sink or a basin and pour lukewarm water over it until the roots are soaked and water runs out.
3️⃣ Let the pot drain completely before returning it to its spot—no soggy roots!

🌱 Watch the Roots: Healthy orchid roots are green and plump when hydrated. If they look silvery or dry, it’s time to water!

🚫 Avoid Overwatering: Orchids hate sitting in water. Allow the potting medium to dry slightly between waterings. Too much moisture can lead to root rot.

☀️ Humidity is Key: Orchids love 50–70% humidity. Use a pebble tray with water (don’t let the pot sit in the water) or a humidifier. Avoid misting the flowers or crown to prevent fungal issues.
