Katherine Smith-Flores’ journey in landscape design started when she was eight with a garden of pansies, snapdragons, and marigolds at her childhood home in New Mexico. Now, her plant palette blends her background in art, project management, and horticulture to create landscapes that are beautiful and fit you, the client.

Katherine was born in Minnesota and has lived across the country and traveled extensively. Before finding her way to landscape design, she worked in marketing, communication, and fundraising for various arts and cultural institutions across the Twin Cities. She has a Bachelor of Arts in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts in Modern and Contemporary Art History from the State University of New York at Purchase College.

When she’s not designing, you can find her walking along the Mississippi River, climbing, dancing, or attending art and music events.
