Margaret’s enthusiasm and love for plants began at the age of 18 when she started working part-time at a local nursery called the Garden Patch in Excelsior, Minnesota. While working at the Garden Patch, she learned the process of watering, pruning and nurturing a variety of perennials
and annuals as well as the basics of customer service.

Her love for flora and the outdoors motivated her to pursue a degree in Environmental Science at the University of Minnesota with an emphasis in botany, entomology and the study of native flora in Minnesota.

Margaret always wants to deliver more than what is expected of her, from ensuring the quality of products to customer interactions. Striving in customer services, Margaret shines when putting herself into other people’s shoes to fulfill customer needs. Finding satisfaction in a job well done is her main priority. Margaret started at Otten Bros. in the Tree and Shrub department before taking over as Perennial Supervisor.
