Missy (short for Mistletoe) has been chief mouse catcher and general greenhouse watch cat at the Otten Bros. since 2014. She came to us as a stray on a cold, snowy day in a panic. We could tell that she was trying to tell us something. We soon figured out that she had given birth recently and was frantically looking for her kittens. We went on a search for the kittens and thankfully found them curled up in a bucket on a bale of hay out back behind our store. There were three kittens which we named Tic, Tac, and Toe. We kept the kittens with Missy until they were old enough to be adopted out. They went to loving homes and Missy decided to call Otten Bros. her forever home.

Missy is a bit of a legend around here and she knows it. Everyone who meets her can’t help but fall in love with this sweet girl. You will often hear over the radios employees asking if anyone has seen her because there are customers here who come just to visit her. Napping is, of course, her primary occupation during the day. Most of the time you will find her basking in the sun in the houseplant greenhouse. During the summer months she loves to patrol the outdoor areas and will likely be spotted out in the tree and shrub lot earning her keep by chasing away critters. Missy does expect to be scratched behind the ears on a regular basis and will accept belly rubs with open paws!

TIP: Missy can be won over with treats. Lots and lots of treats!
